Cairo,Egypt-The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, His Excellency Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, and his high-ranking delegation have arrived in Cairo, Egypt, for an official visit at the invitation of the President of Egypt, His Excellency Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi.

The two Presidents will discuss strengthening efforts to combat terrorism and enhancing cooperation in security and public order in the region. They will also focus on boosting economic development, trade, and investment, with both governments prioritizing these areas.

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud expressed his gratitude to President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi for the warm invitation and Egypt’s ongoing support for Somalia. He emphasized that the relationship between the two countries is based on brotherhood, strategic cooperation, and mutual interests.

Recently, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud visited Ethiopia, where he succeeded in building a relationship of mutual understanding with a country that was previously at odds with Somalia. The Ethiopian Prime Minister had previously treated Somalia’s former Presidents, poorly, but this dynamic has changed, especially after President Hassan Sheikh’s victory in the long-standing diplomatic conflict with Somalia Ethiopia in 2024.
