Mogadishu,Somalia-The Friends of the International Community have expressed their strong support for the invitation extended by the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, His Excellency Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, to politicians and community leaders to join efforts in the fight against terrorism and contribute to the vision of a modern government grounded in democracy and a federal system.

In a statement, the international community praised the efforts made by the Somali government in the ongoing operations to free the country from the grip of Al-Shabaab, a terrorist group that has been terrorizing the Somali people. The press release commended the resilience of the Somali Security Forces and the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM) for their critical role in halting the expansion of Al-Shabaab, particularly in Lower and Middle Shabelle regions.

“We are deeply appreciative of the courageous men and women in the Somali Security Forces and the AUSSOM, who have shown unwavering commitment in preventing the spread of Al-Shabaab’s violence.
