Somali and UAE Parliamentary Leaders Strengthen Bilateral Ties

Dubai Emiraat, the Chairman of the Upper House of the Parliament of Somalia, Mr. Abdi Hashi Abdullahi, and his delegation, currently on an official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), met with Mr. Saqar Gabash, Chairman of the Council of National Unity of the UAE, along with other council members.

During their meeting, the leaders held extensive discussions about the longstanding brotherly relations and cooperation between Somalia and the UAE, highlighting the deep ties between the governments and peoples of both nations. They agreed on the necessity of maintaining communication and consultation between their governments on mutual interests, aiming to play an effective role in parliamentary diplomacy, particularly in leadership and participation in regional and international parliamentary initiatives.

Both leaders stressed the significance of fostering friendship, cooperation, and knowledge sharing between their respective parliamentary councils. They assigned the Friendship Committees of both parliaments to hold meetings and develop plans for key areas of collaboration. This effort aims to enhance relations and cooperation between the two governments, particularly in legislative and diplomatic domains.
